The Companion Guide to ZEITGEIST, Part 1

It is EXACTLY what we feel. While everyone else if worrying about if they'll go to hell or not, praying incessantly to nothing, we are having a good time not wasting our lives away on a huge myth....

Write ya again later.

Around the age of twelve, I asked my mother and my aunt (a "bible schlolar") to explain to me how neanderthals, dinosaurs, and the like, lined up with the bible. I was basically told to "hush, put on your suit, we're going to be late for church!"  My dad,a nonchurch-goer always said,"religion is man's ATTEMPT to understand God. No one can claim absolute truth." Your site is right on the money. Have you read Karen Armstrong's "A History of God"? ... I'm a Christian at a crossroads. My knowledge of Mithras, Horus, the Council of Nicea, Egyptian Book of the Dead, and others has given me power over the guilt I felt about questioning just what the heck I said I was believing.  Sorry for being long-winded. I've recommended your site to ten people. (By the way, your sexiness is proof of some kind of divine plan.)

Thanks for emailing this excerpt from your forthcoming book. My name is on a waiting list for its arrival at a local bookstore. Since I don't really expect a reply from them I look forward to your announcement via email of its publication.

Ever since finding your website (and I've been devouring the materials from yourself, Robert Ingersoll and Andrew White, among others.  I find it particularly interesting that you are one of the few females voices of reason who is not only intelligent (brilliant?), but obviously enlightened.  Have you read When God Was A Woman by Merlin Stone?  Interesting historical info. I don't know how much of it you've covered, but I bet you would have something to say about her book.

As a gay man, I have a special loathing for present day fundamentalism. Altho they don't burn us as they did in the past, their hatred is still present, burning nonetheless, and still backed by the lies and mythology of their made-up religion.  Since those who identify themselves as "Christian" believe in absolute rights and wrongs, I have responded to their accusations about us with a little essay of my own (which will go on my soon to be released website).  If you find time to read it (I'm sure you're very busy with your wonderful research) you'll probably find it amusing.  I'm not a historian (but rather a computer consultant), but the info presented is as accurate as I can muster.  If you have any comments, I would appreciate them!

My book is The Christ Conspiracy: The Greatest Story Ever Sold.

... as I mentioned previously "Never cave in to the idiots."

Your voice and work is needed and wanted.  And clearly, your work will go down in history as one of the few voices of reason in this arena.

One of your comments made me recall a thought I had as a teenager.  I've always been curious to know why vocal Christians are so concerned about the fall of the Roman Empire.  They constantly talk like America is on the brink of collapse--and somehow the collapse of the Roman Empire is a model for our collapse.  We're no closer to that now than in the early 70s when I first heard it ...  If anything, it seems that the collapse of Rome helped bring them more into power!  Plus, if America collapses from within or without, shouldn't they be "happy"?  That would indicate the "wonderful" end-of-the-world scenario is occuring that they're so looking forward to!

Good luck.  I look forward to your book, future emails and updates to your website.

Subject:  Questions?

Hello again, I've just read your "Responses To Comments and Questions," and am very impressed.  I have a couple of silly questions myself:

        1.  How do you pronounce "Acharya"?  [A-CHA-ree-yuh
        2.  Do you give lectures or talks anywhere?

A general comment:  please rant on!!  I was raised in a strict Roman Catholic environment, I was fortunate enough to "escape."  I stopped believing when I was 18 and left home, but I'm still besieged by an image of an "old man in the sky" when I here the word "god".  I stumbled onto Castaneda's books, which really kicked off my search for answers.  I find a lot of inspiration reading your stuff - as a recovering Catholic, I certainly agree with most of it.  I just wish I could shut off my "internal dialogue" - it just amazes me how unending and useless it is.  My meditation practice helps, but I'm sick and tired of the "internal chatter."  42 years of brainwashing will do that, I guess.  How did you come to be "enlightened," if I may be so bold?  I know two people can't follow the exact same path, but I'll take any legitimate pointers I can get.

Thanks for your work, and know that there are people out here who also regard the entire cosmos as divine.

Your friend,

P.S.  I would love to contribute financially to your organization, unfortunately, I'm just a working stiff surviving from paycheck to paycheck (with two teenagers to support, no less).  I do plan on buying some of your books,  though, so I hope that helps.  I definitely support you in spirit.

Anyone who wishes to see this work carried on but who cannot do it themselves can help greatly by contributing to my non-profit Institute for Historical Accuracy.

...  I would like to share with you my theory that the name of Iesus is etymologically derived from Dionysus (literally in Greek son of god) as well as the name of the God, but that is how Saul of Tarsus sold it to the Keltoi that then inhabited Galatia and Galilee....

I am listening to you discuss Sitchin and the Dogons and I hear my own self speaking.

Incredible - I can almost believe that I've been cloned.

Hi, I just thought I'd say hello and that you have a very nice site.  It is interesting at least. I find you seem to have the agendas of some groups rather confused in your writings, however.  For a while now, I've been studying the Christian monopolisation of such things as mental health services in my area and I fear than whatever evil move they are about to make, they will make it soon. I am writing a fair bit about the Christian agenda with their ownership of the media and their ownership of such health services. At the moment I am trying to finish a rough copy of a document about the Christian ownership of the media. On top of all that, I have a mailing list to run which is basically a list for the mentally ill without the traditional side-serving of Christian lecturing and Orwellianism.  It is hard work, trying to steer the community of the mentally ill away from outright accepting this Christian censorship and thought-policing as if it were good for them. :)  Anyway, I just thought I'd say you're doing a great job with your site.

Ironic that Christians would be monopolizing the mental health industry, since Christianity is a mental illness.  Rob Sterling calls Christianity "a psychotic fairytale."

I was reading your thing on cults and cannibalism and so forth and I got the impression that you think eveyone is part of a cult.  So, does that mean you are too?  I'm a christian and I never knew all the stuff that was in the torah. We always learned the happy stories. So, thanks for writing all that.  It was very eye opening.

As I say, everyone is a cult unto her/himself.

...  You're hilarous!  I bet you really piss the old fuddy duddies off and, furthermore, you don't really care.

I must say, your site has quite a bit of information, and I haven't been able to get through it all but I have read Sichin, Laurence Gardner, Lloyd Pye and others.  I think you're right on the money on most of the
information you have but I still believe out there somewhere there is a Divine Creator but the entity is not a male!

I really like Christians that walk around like all pissed off saying that they are these great Christians and then do the opposite to people.  I want to barf.  So if Jesus is their saviour then why are they so pissed off about it....

I bet you could really piss off the 700 Club and Jerry Farewell - what a geek.

I respect people if they want to believe in fairy tales but can't understand why they would think the death of one man is going to save them.  Since there is no Devil and no such thing as sin.

My, my, my that is how the masses are controlled I guess by fear.  I like your Catholic cult information.  My husband's family think that "Catholics" are God's gift.  My husband accused me of getting involved in a cult when I started taking Reiki classes.  Can't wait to show him the Catholic cult page.

I wish I had study harder and become an archeologist.  I did one to do that at one time.  Well, anyway, you did all the hard for me.

Subject:  Visits to Israel (the holy land?)

I have for many years been studying the stories of the Bible and Jesus Christ and have come to the same conclusion (that Jesus is a mythological  figure or a blending of many so called gods of history).  One thing that I do not understand is the many thousands of people who visit the holy lands and see the sights of these biblical stories  i.e. the place where Christ was born or the place of the crucifiction.  Who is behind the building of these sights if they never existed before?  I know that tourism in Israel is one of
there top businesses, and they need to keep this business alive for reasons of commerce but that does not explain why so many people can be led to a place where nothing ever happened.

You've answered your own questions:  tourism and $$$.  Site- and relic-making, as well as mythmaking, are old, priestly habits used to defraud the people.  An old Roman adage:  "The common people like to be deceived; let them be deceived."
