Hell, I'm also turned on by your lovely prose and passion for justice! If I had a million dollars I'd give your cause half of it, and a another quarter to just you because you're an anachronism (I know it's difficult living WAY ahead of your time!) Why the hell are you not on Larry King Live, Politically Incorrect, or the news hour with Jim Lehrer? Well, that's a pretty stupid question, really.

I'm optimistic enough to think that this very real and deadly problem, the surrendering of one's responsibility and handing it over to an abstract 'thing', is fading. (My God, I pray it is so :-)

All the best,

I just found your web site, and it's great! I've only recently started a little page on xoom.com which I've entitled, "Reasons Why I Could Never Be A Christian", and your site and the links have given me even more ideas. I hope you don't mind if I add a little link to your page, because it's fascinating, and it's obvious you've put a lot of time and effort into it. I'm optimistic that with the onset of the Information Age, we will abolish all religious superstition once and for all!

Thanks, and take care!

I have not fully read all that is offered here, due to my limited amount of leisure time, but I will mark this and endeavor onwards until I have caught up. All I can say at this point is, "Where the hell have you been all of my life?"

As I read through these pages, nothing more comes to mind than yet another corny phrase...."You took the works right out of my mouth" as well as my mind.

If you don't mind, while I am drinking-in your site, I'd like to pass it on to everyone! As I have read almost nothing as supportive of "my" way of thinking and living.

Who the hell are you? Will you marry me?

Conrtradiction should be your first middle and last name. You are seriously misrepresenting Christianity, Buddhism and any other religion you claim to know the "truth" about. Buddism does not in any way shape or form use as a part of it's philosophy or doctrine disclaiming another religion to enhance the believability of it's own beliefs. This tactic is a fallacy in philosophy and furthermore it demonstrates a lack of faith in your own beliefs whatever those may be!!! "Historical Accuracy" - HA, are you on drugs??????? Astrology is not as old as the documentation of the Holy Bible you moron, it seems you have done quite the extensive selective research. FALLACIES AND LIES- you will recieve your retribution, on that note, have a really bad day.

p.s. if you have all those credentials why do you have a yahoo address?????????

Acharya and anyone else who'd care to help me understand...,

Acharya, your book is simply wonderful! A beacon of light that radiates the much-needed antidote to poisons that have been infecting the precious minds of so many for so long. A definite 'breath of fresh air' for me!!

I have a question about how and why you went about using "Adventures Unlimited" as the publisher and why is it that you do not use a more 'digestible' name other than 'Acharya S'?

This topic has caused some heated debates between a few of my friends and me, and I don't mean the subject of the book per se. Most or all of my friends are agnostics and are open and welcome to your theories stated in your book. Have you considered that there are layman and scholars out there who may not take your book seriously because of the publisher and your anonymity?

I've have argued that you did not use your 'real' name (I'm assuming here) because you value your life and that don't want to be killed by religious freaks. Delivering controversial works is one thing, but being an intelligent woman (and a very pretty one at that), and writing about religion raises the stakes when dealing with an established patriarchy whose members have been known and proved themselves to be highly insecure and protective of their methods and philosophies. Also, with respect to the publisher, I know that even Noam Chomsky, a highly respected intellectual and dissident will not be published by some of the top newspapers and publishers because of his controversial views so he as to resort, unfortunately, to lesser known publishers and alternative newspapers that don't have the readership population.

So, with this, do you think that your anonymity and choice of publisher could hurt your chances of enlisting a wider, more active audience? Of course, any success in reaching out is something but I'd really like to hear what you have to say.

Although your comments regarding my book being "simply wonderful," etc., are intelligent 8P, your questions are dumb and disrespectful. And when I answered them, you became abusive. The fact is that I did not have Random House, et al., at my disposal. As concerns my anonymity, you answered the question yourself, so why bother me with it?

I just read the intro to the Origins of Christianity and I love it. Not that I'm totally anti Christ. But I love anything that helps myself and others wade through the mumbo jumbo. If you extract all the mysticism and mythology from Christianity there still remains a good philosophy on how to live (Do unto others). Of course this philosophy did not originate with Christianity and I don't know where it exactly did originate. But when applied it is the only meaningful religion that really does or has ever existed.

To: Acharya S

Hello. I am an 18 year old college freshmen doing a research report for English 102 on the Anunnaki and came across your web site. Though it is a great site, I would just like to know what your sources are and who you are (i.e. your background). I need this information if I choose to use your site and information as a source. Of course, you will be fully credited in my paper. Thank you.

This information is provided in the Anunnaki article itself. My background is briefly related at the About the Author page.

Subject: Thoughts on your book

I browsed through your book at Walden's. Being a Christian, it really had me worried. Upon arriving home, I checked out your website. That put all my fears to rest. You have a conspiracy theory for everything, and you take the notion of anecdotal evidence to new highs. I won't even get into your theories on aliens.

Your writings remind me of some of the misguided conclusions made by Stephen Hawking and Carl Sagan. When you have to go to such lengths to "prove" there is no God, or that He does not take action in our Universe, that’s the best proof there is for God's reality and influence over our existence.

The ideas expressed in your book have inspired me to do some research. However, having read your other "theories" I am confident that God and His Son (that's with an "o") will prevail.

By the way, it's never too late to accept Jesus into your heart: "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Mt 11:29-30

Regards,

I'm glad you are so easily assuaged. It is typical of blind believers - don't read the book, just stick your head in the sand. Go to my website to find something that you hate about me, so you can completely ignore thousands of facts that will, in actuality, show you a better reality than you can have imagined, one much bigger than your narrowed perspective will allow. And, you have the unmitigated arrogance to suppose that you are more intelligent and enlightened than Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking!

Why IS it these "loving Christians" are SO filled with hatred, arrogance, megalomania and anger?

My computer has been going downhill now for several weeks, and one of the most annoying manifestations of that is that I can't get into my hotmail account. {Had I taken certain actions that one on this list, dear to me more than they know, had recommended, I would surely not be in this predicament...} So I have been going to the library once a week to see what's going on with the list, and it's amazing to see 150 or more "unread" messages come up. I haven't been reading everything, but I miss my friends here, and haven't said much lately. What a bunch of amazing folks. (Except that some crept in who were just trying to show off their "intelligence." I was, frankly, intimidated by them, and thought to go away and hide my ignorant, stupid self, but now I rather imagine that the whole thing was just a pseudo-intellectual mind-fuck. I've decided without apology that if someone writes something that I cannot understand, it means that that person is either trying to sound better than they are, or they don't know how to write worth a damn; either way, I have no use for them or their "information." Go to Acharya's website. I challenge anyone to find something that is not clearly, intelligently, lucidly presented. THAT's intelligence. THAT's the desire to communicate. Not some obscure foolish garbage that makes you go, "huh? What?" To hell with that.)

I read with interest Nate's musings about beliefs, and who or what he is, and the responses there to. And before that I have wept over the thread that thor started re the cops. I myself, sexual abuse "victim", born Catholic, sometime atheist, searcher, loner, seeker, cult escapee, sometime drugee, widowed single mom, have been questioning my identity as well. I hate modern society with a hatred that is sometimes dangerous, and the superficiality, the unrealness, the enclosed claustrophobic airconditioned air, the roads, the cars, the noise, the ugliness. So many things seem to be so "wrong" in a way that I have not been able to understand. recently I have come upon a body of knowledge that seems to resonate in me like no other, and this feels like home. Am I jumping to conclusions? Should I hold out for more information? Maybe, but for now I think I know where I am going, what I will be doing, how I will conduct myself, how I will teach my precious child - and how I will worship! Yes! Worship! There is only one worthy of honor and praise and prayers - oh amazing, after my stint with the monotheistic yahweh monster I didn't think those sorts of words would ever come from my mouth or my heart again!!!!!

It is the Earth Mother. It is Gaea.

Truly, I am a PAGAN. It is my heart and my soul. I am of the Earth. I lay on the ground and weep for what we have done to Her. I want the planet to live and to come to fruition, to heal. Oh dear, to some of you I am raving mad. to others, I hope you understand...

See, if interested, http://www.caw.org, and the articles on Gaea....

Now I must go, to find some of my people. Much affection to all herein.

Blessed be!

Dear AS,

I am greatly enjoying the Greatest Story Ever Sold.

I just finished the part about Jesus -- very good....

I do appreciate your erudition. I'll probably "steal" some of it for debate fodder ...

I have two debates on the Resurrection of Jesus coming up soon....

I have PLENTY of excellent resources on the reputed resurrection, but if you have any good current suggestions, I'd be happy to know about them.

Dear Acharya,

I can't tell you how refreshing your TruthBeKnown web site and book has been for me! I started immediately to distribute your site address and photo of your book to my friends and family. Finally, issues that I felt passionately about were eloquently and brilliantly written.

You had a chance to answer my question on the list and make known why you decided to use 'Adventures Unlimited' as the publisher. You could inspire confidence and better arm your supporters with your answers to these difficult questions. They in turn will be better prepared to answer the questions put to them by their peers. These are real issues! Diplomacy is real. You could present yourself as one who is not only a quick witted and brilliant revolutionary but who is also ready to respond to questions without getting defensive. Someone who is kind and reaches out to people who require a little more help in processing this profound information. By the way, it was an inference made by you about being a slacker. I can only imagine how much work it takes to do what you have done.

When a friend asked about the publisher of your book, references you list in the book, and the fact that you conceal your real name, she was really asking about how your book would be perceived by the public knowing that the public cares about the message and messenger alike. Admittedly, I did not care one lick about the messenger at first but I was reminded later about the importance of it. You must know that there are scholars, learned people, and lay people alike that will question aspects of your book. Don't you think that you should know how to properly respond to these inevitable questions without offending people and further marginalising this very important message?

You can not be that unaware of the responsibility you've taken on by writing this landmark work.

I'm just a little guy out here man, one of billions, and you actually let my questions move you into becoming defensive. Unbelievable! What are you going to do when you're faced with difficult questions from someone like Charlie Rose? Are you going to say that the questions are silly (dumb, actually)? And then go on how you've toiled for years eating peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and salads to make ends meet while you've been working to better humanity, as we know it?

And then have the audacity to demand that the he and the people in the audience go out and help get the word out?

It sucks that people did not listen to you! It sucks that it was very difficult for you to get published because of the controversial material! It sucks if it seems that you have worked your 'ass off' and that no one really cares! Well, people do care. You are getting out there and people are beginning to listen and become informed. I applaud your zeal and passion! ...

Thanks. While I appreciate the enthusiasm, I've had not a few messages from such "supporters" who turned out to be wolves in sheep's clothing. I believe my "defensive remark" was that your questions are dumb and disrespectful, and that I've already answered them. In your questions, you are insinuating that I have not done well enough in my inability to magically manifest the support of a huge publisher (such publishers quite often being AGAINST putting out information such as mine), and that I should willingly put myself at further risk, in a world of crazies, by not using a pseudonym. People have been using pseudonyms for eons - it certainly has not hurt their credibility. Like I say, a dumb question. And I have no idea what you are talking about having "the audacity to demand that the [sic] he the people ..." I have never suggested anything of the sort to anyone. You are projecting, and revealing your anger and disrespect, although claiming to be a "supporter."
