Hi! Try my Christ Con links page. A couple of "new" finds: Dupuis's Origin of All Religious Worship, and the anonymous Christian Mythology Unveiled. Try looking them up at the Library of Congress and getting an interlibrary loan, if they're not at your library.

Don't have much of an opinion - never read any of his stuff. But, "alot of their writing is similar" to mine? Groan. I can hear it now. Well, if it's good enough for Marilyn Manson...

Dear Acharya,

I just finished "The Christ Conspiracy" and loved it ! Several years ago I read "The Book Your Church Doesn't Want You To Read" and was pleasantly shocked at the information brought forth. Your book is much more in depth and hard hitting. I bought another book for three of my friends to read. I am now all stirred up and would love to see the original texts along with the translations describing the virgin birth and crucifixion scenarios, etc., for Horus/Isis, Krishna, Buddha, and so forth. Is there such a book? Keep up the great work and thanks for any references you have time to share with me.

Look for my new book, hopefully out sometime next year... You won't easily be able to find "original texts" with this information. Much of the evidence was destroyed, which is why detectives like me have to come along and piece it all together. Would that there were such easily available texts!

Your hate is unfortunate and misdirected. May God bring you peace!

You mean I shouldn't hate spurious, hateful ideologies that have resulted in the torture and deaths of millions of human beings, turning the remainder into brainless zombies who use pseudo-psychology to bludgeon others into their delusions?

Acharya S -- your book has been a way to unwind every other day ... i really enjoy reading about "the other" good men and how the christian religion more or less stole from these ... thank you so much for writing interesting and enjoyable material to keep me reading ... i just took reading up again after a 20 year layoff!

And now that I have ingested your site to a degree, at least those issues striking relevant chords, I write again.

All belief systems demand from the individual, compliance to the thoughts of others. That you afford effort towards freeing the minds, of those caught in belief traps is commendable.

That you enjoy and appreciate the results is your reward.

The "key' still lingers, occasionally brushing my mind, as laughter carried softly on a breeze, echoing, .......echoing.

The great wall of power embracing humanity imprisons, yet shields at the same time, allowing some to stride without fear, when mere knowledge would provide anoxic results.

As I have my own place of mind, finding all systems to be, simply carriers of further knowledge to expand or enlighten, at least at those times when, in a state of passion, pathos(3), leads to expulsion from reality, acceptance of my higher self as not nearly aware enough.

Thanks for the vibe, the echo, ........the 'KEY'

I  am shocked that there are people like you, the so called "free thinkers" who do all they can to disprove who Jesus is. Who he is in my life, and millions of other Christians cannot be told or explained in a 2 hour video. Your "astrological" signs and wonders, you soft associates who give you insight to the spirit world, I do not doubt their power and understanding of forces...Yet how can you down play the Power and Majesty that is in the name of Jesus. Even demons know not to step on feet bigger than theirs, are you more powerful than a demon? Do you have any control over the spirit world? Jesus is your only attorney before the judgment of all mighty God. When God judges you, will he see your guilty self, with all the mistakes you've done? When God looks at me, all he will see is Calvary, my price has been paid....has yours?  I am 20 yrs old, a male, have been into a lot of things in my life, now and forever I am into the arms of my savior...Jesus Christ.  Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound.....  pls write back

"pls write back?" Oh, yes, what sweet enticement! Blecch. There's that rotten-tasting fruit of Christianity again. Or, as Bill Hicks might say, "What a stupid message!"

Keep up the good work...we're reading along...

Subject: My head is spinning!

Dear A.S.

You are causing my head to spin! Over the last 18 months or so, it seems that I have been heading in your direction. I grew up Catholic (not strict) but it never felt right or meant anything to me. I didn't do much about it - never seemed important. Then one day I discovered Sitchen, which led me to a host of others, and ever since, I have been on this 'the truth is out there' path which has currently stopped at your site. The reason my head is spinning, is because you have supplied so much more to read!! The thirst is unquenchable. My problem is I'm trying to cram too much in at one time. I'm currently reading Hazelrigg's The Sun Book (thanks to YOUR book & references - I have your recommended reading page bookmarked) but I'm also doing a side by side with the Bible & Josephus' "Antiquities," trying to throw Osman's 'Out of Egypt' and Rohl's 'Legend' in as well. I could do it if I didn't have to work 8 hrs a day!

Before I ramble too much, I just want to say thanks for igniting a spark! I do have a couple of questions:

Are you aware of any discussion boards that deal with this topic? Based on some of your ' ' I think a discussion board/group would be a big hit.

Second - What do you think of Ahmed Osman's work? He certainly makes some valid arguments in favor of a certain degree of historicity in the OT that has been covered up about as well as the true source of our religion. I would pay to see a conference involving yourself on the astro-theology side, Ahmed Osman on the Pharonic history side, and David Rohl on the Archaeological evidence side. That would be something to hear!

Third - are there any good CONTEMPORARY writers (besides you!) currently working on the astro-theological question? I don't necessarily mean the non-historical Jesus side, but history & evolution. Most of the things I've read lately, such as The Sun Book, were written around the turn of the century, and while the information is good, we've obviously learned so much MORE since.

Thanks for your time and site!

You're welcome! Whew! You've said a mouthful. I'd hoped my discussion group would bring up some of these issues more often, but perhaps it's just too broad in its scope.

I'm So sorry that you've been hurt. I've been abused all my life and I've doubted and protested the existence of anything divine. But I can't deny the things I see with my very own eyes. There really is a beautiful place beyond this wretched trial. I somehow believe that anyone can have a revelation of truth. I've read many of your essays, you seem to be a very intelligent person. You have displayed an incredibly accurate chain of logic in your writing. But, sometimes it takes the simplicity of a child to defy logic and look beyond a crying world to see the light that breaks through a clouded system of what seems to be a lost cause. I'm not telling you these things to "make you see my side." I've watched mercy and grace dispel deception without a vessel and without words. Furthermore, you are correct in using the words "simpleminded" and "insane" to describe the state of believers. As the world sees a people "blindly" following a god that seems to be so easily disproved, we really are crazy. But if I live for this world I have only temporary, limited knowledge. If I live for myself, I have absolutely nothing. I hope you do come to know the precious thing you once held as a small child, that thing that was stolen by the world you now cling to, that thing that was given to and intended for you by God, that thing that still holds you under grace. I apologize, as well for any letters you have received from those who are proclaiming themselves as Christians who, have threatened you with the fires of Hell. No human can say who is and who is not in The Lord's favor. Those who judge harshly will be judged harshly. I hold no grudges toward you and, in fact, have a deep empathy for you. I hope that I have only fulfilled my purpose in sharing and have not gone so far as to offend you in writing this.

I Love Your Book.  I drink it in every morning on the subway to work. Uplifting is the word that comes to mind. I haven't been this excited since I read "The Book Your Church Doesn't Want You to Read."

You know, there's not one single joke in the bible. A rather dreary and obsolete tome.

I'm glad you're a woman.  I'm gladder still, that you are attractive and proud of it.  Ain't no sin in beauty and brilliance.

I love your book.   Thank you for the tremendous amount of research and accuracy you've put into it.  Thank you for the passion that you imbue in your writing.

You must get some great hate mail.

Ah, thank you for the shower of sanity. As you can see from the above, the hate mail ain't so great - pretty pathetic, actually!

OH, ARCHARYA, apparently are a chief minnion of the human representatives of the classical beelzubub, or whatever he is called, and the official churches of satan all have an image of the face of Christ, who is substantiated in Josephus's history of that time, and Josephus as you may or may not know is as reputable as Herodutas and others.

...I know you are quite aware of the reality of Jesus Christ.

I'm in such a good mood even the enemies of the non-existant Jesus Christ can't get me down today.

Inside each satanist there used to be a real human being, and that is what I try to remember always.

Would you not agree?  Anyway, not my aim is not to encourage dialogue with minnions and their agents, and got bored enough with that down realm about 20 years ago.  If I get that bored, trust me, I will try to establish dialogue with  creatures of the light for sure.

But, I wish you well and I found your answer to me quite benign under the circumstances of my rather intense missive to you.

So Fortean Times nutted up on you...shouldn`t be surprising. I have offered your book to people and they have refused to read it even though they know that christianity is a fraud and a hoax. This is what disturbs me....people who willingly go along with this nonsense regardless of the best available information. They are comfortable with the sad. Just put that big hatpin through your frontal lobes and get ready for a night of championship wrestling followed by the 4 hour praise-a-thon on CBN.... Hurry up with that new book...I need it bad:>)

Dear Dr. Laura,

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's law. I have learned a great deal from you, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.

1.) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. How should I deal with this?

2.) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as it suggests in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3.) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4.) Lev. 25:44 states that I may buy slaves from the nations that are around us. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans but not Canadians. Can you clarify?

5.) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

6.) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 10:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

7.) Lev. 20:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

I am reading your book, Greatest Story Ever Sold, and it's absolutely wonderful!

I realize that you are surely very busy, but nothing ventured nothing gained.  You've obviously had a great deal more experience with this sort of thing, and I was wondering if you could provide some insight or point me in the right direction for some information regarding the following argument that ended an interesting conversation on a bbs, when a participant began to get abusive, ending with the following:

(Begin quote)

Proof: the following people mention Jesus in writing: Epictetus, Lucian, Aristades, Galenus, Lampridius, Dio Cassius, Emeritus, Annianus, Marcellinus, Eunapius, Zosimus, Porphyry, Hieracles, Julian the Apostate...that not enough??

round 2: Pliny the younger and not even Celsus went so far to claim Jesus never lived.  Josepheus (and oh yea, if you're thinking his writing was forged, well you are gonna have to explain the fact the paragraph is in EVERY manuscript we have....if you even know what i am talking about, i dont have to go into the specific wording.)

round 3: geez, so do i have to mention the 5,000 NT manuscripts????????? damn man. we dont have anywhere close to have that number for many ancient writing we accept as authentic.  but oh this is Jesus, so you immediately dismiss it.

(End Quote)

I have always found fault with blind faith, and your book is great. Unfortunately, my education focuses on electrical engineering, and since you are easily my favorite authority on religious mythos, I decided I couldn't hurt to ask for your wisdom...

I applaud you and your work.  As someone from deep within Mississippi, I see the need for a spiritual awakening all day every day.

Thank you

Hiya - I appreciate your comments very much.

Concerning your question regarding the bible-thumper's spurious apology, i.e, naming the various "historical reports," these various writers were not eyewitnesses to the events, nor were they contemporaneous but were reporting on the TRADITIONS of the day - some of them are from centuries later! That would be like someone four or five hundreds years from now attesting to the reality of Superman! That apologists are forced to resort to such baloney shows how weak is their "case."

Furthermore, there were manuscripts without the forged Josephus passage, i.e., the Testimonium Flavianum, such as in the possession of Vossius. These were destroyed by the Christian hierarchy.

"5,000 NT manscripts." I don't know what this person is talking about, and neither does he. We have two or three manuscripts dating from the fourth century, and then progressively more after that. Nothing is left of those preceding that time, except a few fragments of pre-canonical texts dating from the second century.

Try my Christ Con links for a thorough refutation of these "historical sources."

I recently bought a copy of your book The Christ Conspiracy and once I started reading, I couldn't put it down.  Needless to say, I loved it.  I have long believed that Christianity is a lie, although I did believe in the possibility of a real person behind the Christ figure as in the Picknett and Prince book The Templar Revelation.  But after reading John Allegro and now your book, I think not.  I was so impressed with your research that I convinced my best friend to buy a copy of your book after I raved about it in an email and sent her the link to your website.  I was encouraged after reading emails you had received to know that there are like-minded individuals out there and that I'm not just a lone lion trapped here in the midwest in a den of Christians....

We need more people like you, Acharya.

Well, thanks, lovebubble!
