Looking forward to your reply.
You are correct that "nobody knows exactly what Hinduism is," which is why nobody can relate with exactness the story of Krishna, for example. In fact, the fable has changed many times over the centuries and millennia. I get my information from a number of sources, including Christian individuals such as Sir William Jones and his Asiatic Researches. In fact, I spend a significant portion of my book Suns of God: Krishna, Buddha and Christ Unveiled on Jones's material.
Actually, the Vedas were written in Vedic, which proto-Sanskrit. There are books with the original Vedic or Sanskrit available in American libraries – Muir's Sanskrit Texts, for example. But there are thousands of Hindu texts, and only a fraction have been translated. Nevertheless, what has been translated is eye-opening. The assertions are gleaned from a wide variety of these texts and sectarians rituals.
Re my name, yes, of course it's a pseudonym, adopted mainly to annoy those individuals who believe an enlightened being can only be an Indian male.

Thanks for the work you did on The Christ Conspiracy. I recently purchased a copy and am reading it now for the second time. I have read Robertson's Pagan Christs, and Carpenter's Pagan and Christian Creeds, and my library has a number of volumes on comparative religion, focusing primarily on Christianity, but I have never seen a book that is better documented than yours. You cited many texts that I am completely unfamiliar with, and I am anxious to seek some of them out. I honestly feel that your book should be required reading for all Christians (or believers in any religion); it is incredible that so many people blindly believe and unquestioningly accept these most bizarre and fantastic notions.
I was raised as a Catholic and went to parochial schools. When I asked the obvious questions, such as, "How does anyone know what hell is like, if you only get there by being doomed for eternity?" (this was after a long and painful dissertation by a severely unbalanced nun on what it was like to be in hell); or "Why is God always going around 'smiting' people?" I was usually sent to the office or sentenced to rake leaves after school. I quit being a Catholic when I was 17, and stopped considering myself a Christian when I was 18. I'm now 53 and still a little annoyed at all the mental baggage that this sun cult tried to lump onto me as a child.
The greatest wrong done by organized religions today is pretending that they know something about God. I, and countless others who have questions about life and its meaning, have been sidetracked for years in our quest for meaning. This is why books like your are so valuable. Truth will always overpower falsehood. There is power in truth, and strength in the knowledge of truth. Thank you for supplying some truth.

Acharya, I have read just about everything in your website, and you truly are an enlightened well-read and well-educated person. It is a breath of fresh air to read words you agree with and have always inwardly known. Thank you for all of your hard work and for the wonderful website. I really like the your "brain on drugs" thing...all my co workers got a good laugh when I showed them.
Acharya, I have been studying world religions and metaphysics for nearly twenty years now...and although I thought I knew a lot I still learned a great deal from your work. But I would like to point out something I found out a couple of years ago that's really fascinating.
I pretty much discounted all religions, especially Christianity. I found that anytime someone did me underhanded [he or she was a REBORN CHRISTIAN. I grew to hate this lot. I found myself more drawn to the Buddhists I spent time with in Thailand, Korea and Japan. I came across a web site that I know as searcher of truth and knowledge you will love. It is www.hiddenmeanings.com
Mr. Donahue teaches the truth about religion and the bible. If you haven't taken a look, I hope you do. He also has a TV show in New Jersey. Anyway, the theme is that the Bible is a Greek document with a coded message hidden in symbolic words of old. As the Bible says, the letter (literal) killeth and the spirit giveth life. It also says all things are an allegory. And don't you understand the dark sayings of old. And again in the Old Testament. Do not be a minister of the letter (literal interpretation). It's all symbolism - none of the stories are true. But Mr. Donahue shows their true universal solar myth beginnings, the relationship between the brain and cosmos, and it's all hidden in symbolic words...even the speed of light is in the Old Testament....
The tribe of Judah in numbers: the tribes' number is 186. 400, and they are the tribe of light. The zodiac and twelve disciples [are twelve cranial nerves in the brain, and Jesus in Golgotha, which in medical terms is Greek for skull, kundalini in the bible, the pineal gland and more much more...just a little teaser. I hope you read some of it and let me know what you think in the future. I think you will find his work fascinating. Good luck
This "Mr. Donahue" sounds like he's been studying Dr. Alvin Boyd Kuhn and Hilton Hotema. Actually "Golgotha" is Aramaic for skull. It sounds okay, but I find this sort of thing to be very tedious and tenuous at best.

nice webpage just a friendly hello, knowledge is power, but once our eyes open, we automatically by human nature get PISSED!! off, because we cannot do anything about the situation. But the war is God -vs.- Satan. we express our anger utilizing our wherewithal.
but it's Gods war with Satan. And there is nothing the sheep can do about, When Jesus comes back, it will all be over including the status quo.
just a thought,

Hello Acharya S, just another admirer of the fruits of your scholarly labor. I find your expositions highly enlightening. People may wonder why you even bother, but remind them that the noblest of professions is the seeking of truth. Be brave and firm, but be sure to take it easy when these baboons start screaming and pounding the dirt in fear of losing their cherished beliefs to the growing pains of the truth. There is nothing more beautiful than the glory of the infinite heavens and all their colors and shapes... to me that is the promise of salvation, one more night to witness and behold the grandeur of the sky and all celestial creations/manifestations. And even more importantly, that the sun hasn't set for good on me that day and will surely rise to brighten life again. Signing off...there is nothing new under the sun; just old truth brought to light again.

I'm a newly dedicated Wiccan... Bought your book, The Christ Conspiracy... I am currently reading it, and enjoying it thoroughly. Truthbeknown.com is a wonderful site; I LOVE IT. It's about time someone with a formidable intellect and such wonderful eloquence finally told it like it is. You have beautifully expressed the sentiments that I have instinctively felt for a LONG time, and have been unable to put into words. Thank you SO much for your Honesty, Courage, and Labors, in doing JUST that!

…Have you read anything interesting lately...I'm still in the process of being de-programmed from my Christian background...Give me any new updates that you have...or anything that could be helpful to a person who is trying to leave the fold right now.... Thanks a lot, I'm sure you have some info for me.
Hold on until the publication of Suns of God… I think you'll enjoy it very much – I've gone through an enormous amount of research. The material is endless.

Acharya - your book has been an eye opener for me. I've been on a truth searching expedition since I stumbled upon David Icke's books, And The Truth Shall Set You Free and The Biggest Secret. Then I found yours. Incredible research.
I have a problem with all of this, though. I've "played" the part of a Christian off and on during my life. My wife is very spiritual and is a devout believer. We have two children, 11 and 5. We've somewhat put all this to the side (I've quit going to church and declared myself a non-believer) but we're starting to realize the possible grave consequences to our marriage.
Can you offer any suggestions or refer me to other people who have had to or attempted to consolidate such differing beliefs into a marriage?
Thank you! Many people have had this problem over the centuries, with one person a believer, whatever the religion, and the other either a nonbeliever or a believer in another religion. I don't think there are any easy answers. I personally don't encounter them, as I've never been married, and I tend to bring people around me to a more expanded way of seeing. In other words, I hang around with like-minded people. I guess I wouldn't be the best person to ask, but, again, there have been many people in this situation, so somebody must know something! You could try joining my list at http://www.truthbeknown.com/superconsciousness.htm and asking about anyone else's experience. Sometimes there's not much a response, other times it goes ballistic.
Anyway, one need not be a believer to be "spiritual." In fact, I find that the nonbelievers are far more spiritual and loving, because they don't have all this religious bias in their minds, keeping them apart from others.

Subject: Hello beautiful, intelligent, shining light in this foggy murky world.
…I checked out the review of your new book, and it looks great, count me in.
This is a long rant, and I hope I don't bore you, BUT THIS IS SERIOUS, AND MUST BE SAID.… what can we do? Forgive me if I ramble, but we got basic problems here. HOW DO WE GET THE …DAMNED MESSAGE OUT!!!! Humanity can't go on as it has; we're doomed (particularly considering that Islam, that repressive, guilt-ridden bunch of claptrap, is exploding exponentially - can you imagine the Taliban in Massachusetts!!). Our current batch of crazy despots (and there's lots more in the pipeline) now have nuclear weapons. Israel, the infamous "promised land" of God's "chosen" people, is bent on blowing up Islam's Dome of the Rock (mostly with money from American Jewry) to re-build their famous temple for the 3rd time, thus ensuring, they believe, the arrival of their long-awaited "messiah". You and I (and all thinking people generally) know that they will only succeed in finally pissing off the Arab world so much, that they will unite and start WWIII.
I could donate $50 or so, as could others of like persuasion, but it wouldn't begin to scratch etc.... Problem is, we're up against the enormous, entrenched wealth of organized religion, in its many sundry flavors, and the deep-seated paradigms of its brainwashed adherents. These cults have had 2 millennia to steal, plunder and embezzle their wealth, and perfect the control techniques they use on their sheep so brilliantly, so they've got a great head start on us. While we're at it, let's not forget the modern-day Borgias: the Jim Bakkers', Oral Roberts' et. al, who don't appear to be suffering materially. I suspect Billy Graham could personally afford to buy Idaho.
How do we reach the masses? Television is the only way I believe (we're a visual-dominated society, even illiterates watch TV) - but how? Commercial sponsoring companies are run by "good" Christians or Jews, so they wouldn't underwrite an honest documentary. Decent, truthful station management couldn't afford to be disenfranchised by the networks, so their hands are tied. Public television? Minimal commercialism, but same mentality, can't afford to rock the boat, as "praise the Lord" members' $$s would dry up. Infomercials? OK, but expensive, and very limited audience at 2:30 am (I suspect that most people who are watching TV at that time are probably into porno or similar ilk, and wouldn't be interested in the truth).
We gotta do something. Short of mortgaging my wife and children, can I help? I've sent your URL to everybody I know - only 2 opened it, and said "Wow - really!! Good stuff," you know, the let-someone-else-worry-about-it mentality. I have tried to sell your Christ Con, same result, "Yep, great book - what's for supper?" The apathy is amazing.
Anyway, thanks for listening. If you think of a way, other than a $100K donation, let me know.
I know what you mean, of course, honeybun. As the great one said, "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance." While the masses are snoozing, the rest of us are watching, hoping we can stem the tide of fascistic religion. I can only do so much. Naturally, donations are very helpful to me; however, I fully understand what we're up against. But, hey – look what lil 'ol I have done by my lonesome. Multiply that by millions...

I am a free thinker...I hope.... In Montana who has just recently found your website. And would like to complement you for your absolute intelligence and splendid commentary on everything... especially religion and politics. It is quite refreshing to find such candid and open intelligence in the world today... keep it up!!!!!! One question though. What are your opinions concerning G.W.Bush and his resemblance to the alleged antichrist? He has apparently suffered a severe head injury, whereas his brain has apparently fallen out...and has miraculously recovered. Thanks again
