Subject: Circumcision
Date: Sat, 23 Oct 1999 22:52:43 EDT

I can remember with agonizing grief, as though it was yesterday, the day my 8-day-old son, so innocent, so unsuspecting, was strapped by the wrists and the ankles into a, well, it was a thing they used for the circumcisions. I was anxious; my husband was casual, assuring me that everything would be okay. We HAD to do this; it was demanded by the "law." I fought back tears as I saw the knife and other instruments. I didn't care about this particular law, really. Somehow, I just couldn't imagine that a just "creator" would create a body part, and then demand it be cut off, in fulfillment of some "covenant." But when my son began screaming in agony, women had to hold ME down because I was crying in agony of heart for my son. He was screaming!! I'd never heard anything like it, and haven't heard anything like it since. Then, for a while, he was silent. I said, "What's wrong?! what's going on?!!" It was okay, they said, he was asleep. Asleep? But no, now I know better. He was unconscious, not asleep; it is the infant's response the greatest pain they've ever experienced.

Then he was crying again, screaming, screaming, and I didn't know if I would vomit or pass out. But it got worse. The fool who was doing this procedure was half way through the thing and was having some problem, and he said at one point, "I'm not sure, I don't know..." And I was saying, "What? What? What's wrong?" as my little boy continued to wail. But he finished at last, the little bleeding penis was wrapped in guaze, and everybody was glad, and wine was poured and passed around, and I was given my child, and I nursed him, with tears falling down my face. I drank no wine.

It turns out that the man who did this did not bother to have a look at my child before he began, and my son had a birth defect called hypospadias in which circumcision is expressly not done, because surgeons use the foreskin to repair the malformed penis, a use for which, I imagine, is possibly the one legitimate use for a removed foreskin. But this man, who truly thought he was doing something as ordained and demanded by god, who was imagined to be a benevolent, loving father, knew nothing of this, these people, who were laughing and drinking wine, knew nothing of this. And my child, who did need an operation later on, went through more trauma and scarring than he would have had to, had not the ignorant primitive foolishness of worship of, and obedience to, a nonexistant monstrous diety demanded the cutting of his innocent flesh.

It is four years later, and sometimes I still cry, remembering what was done to him. And now I am no longer believing in the monster. And my son will not be taught belief in the monster or any of the lies. And the further I get from the beliefs I used to hold, and see how most of the world's people are held sway, to one degree or another, by the insanity that is religion, I seem to have less and less hope that we will indeed, as a species, gain enough knowledge and rationality to outrun the destruction made possible by our gullible stupidity....

I just finished reading your book, The Christ Conspiracy. It was absolutely brilliant. I fail to see how anyone could ever accept Christianity after reading your book. If this book got out to enough people it could radically alter life on this planet. People might actually awake from their slumber and realize what is going on. My personal hope is this book will bring the Vatican down.

I always knew Christianity had suppressed knowledge and learning, but I was surprised to see how intelligent and advanced ancient civilizations actually were. It blows my mind to think how far along we might be as a race if not for the destructive urges of Christianity and other mind-warping religion.

I eagerly await your next book ;) and would be interested in seeing some more of your theories/evidence for a global civilization. You are an excellent writer and presented your evidence very clearly. I imagine this was no easy task considering the scope of the subject you were refuting. I know you have spent a lot of time working on the text and getting it published, and I am very glad you persisted with it. This book was well worth the wait.

One last thing - have you ever thought of somehow trying to contact Bill Mahr of Politically Incorrect? I have a feeling he would love this book, and I know you would make an excellent guest on his show.

[I have had him on my list for review copies. If someone else wants to alert Bill Mahr, who bought 100 copies of The X-Rated Bible as gifts for Xmas 1999, please feel free to do so.

Dear Acharya,

Hope this finds you well. I know you are still working very hard in research and everything you do. I am still reading your book, Christ Conspiracy. I have been busy - I wish I could sit down and just read it, but I can't. There is much to absorb, so I take my time. I want to be ready for bear when we have to face the Inquisition people. (I'm kidding, hopefully.)

I received the message you sent regarding the Apocalypse and the Millennial Madness going on with Fundamentalists of all denominations, and I too am concerned. I feel as you do, that they may force chaos. How very sad. Your book has to get out, I'm going to try to buy more copies and pass them out to the more open-minded people I know. I saw your debate with Glenn Kimball on the web. You did a great job. I have his 2 books which I bought last year after I heard him on Art Bell. Boy, did I make a mistake, especially the part where they have something in Jesus' own hand. I believe he is very close to the Catholic church and knows some influential priests.

There is a new book out in Rome written by an elderly monsignor entitiled "Gone with the Wind" regardings the workings of the vatican. He has a libel suit against him by the trillion-dollar vatican. When I think of all the money and control they have had, it just makes me sick.

Would you ever consider being on the Art Bell show? ... I spoke with the Institute for Historical Accuracy accounting firm in Alliance, Ohio, and I told them I would be interested in contributing every now and then. I feel this is very important ....

... I really appreciate your time - you are truly a scholar and visionary, and you have my wholehearted support.

P.S. Did you hear that "christians" were deported from Israel waiting for the return of you know who. These are very serious issues.

Thanks, doll. I believe Kimball is some sort of Protestant. He doesn't accept the authority of the Catholic Encyclopedia on anything, apparently. Naturally, the Catholic Encyclopedia admits that these various texts Kimball promotes are forgeries. I and others have approached Art Bell many times. Even though he's had on atheists, Satanists, etc., he is evidently not amenable to having me on. Perhaps greater interest would encourage him.

Enjoyed your site. My name is ****. I am a former fundamentalist minister. I left my church and religion some 25 years ago and have kept quiet about my beliefs for many years because of my family--all of them are still strong fundamentalists.... I still live with my Christian wife and family, but I plan to use the net to vocalize my beliefs and to contact folks who are of the same mind. I read your great scholarly background...there was a lot of hard work in getting to where you are; nevertheless, I'd also like to know a bit more about your personal journey...were you ever in Christianity? Did you have a gradual break from Christianity or a quick one. Perhaps I didn't delve into your site enough to find it...are you an atheist, agnostic?

Acharya,

I wrote awhile back, and I haven't been to your site in months, but that little voice of truth told me that another visit was overdue. Sister, your site just gets better and better -- I truly have site envy! All the topics that gnaw at my soul, you've addressed them. All the subjects that my intuition tells me to investigate, you've researched them.

I just want to say that you are my mentor incarnate! Mentor me, baby! I'm serious, actually. You've got a willing pupil here. I've read many of the books on your lists, but I have many more to go; and I'm willing to spend a small fortune to buy 'em all!

Lavish accolades aside, I do have one final caveat. I'm not some blind follower. I believe in the axiom, "Seek not the prophet, seek what the prophet seeks." So, I'm not looking at you as some kind of savior, but a kindred soul, albeit a possibly much older and certainly more learned one.

So, kudos once again.

Subject: Good minds and Surrogate Fathers?

Dearest Acharya:

Some months ago we had some email correspondence in which I cautioned you about the dangers of 'provoking' the Christians and noting to you the pernicious nature of the Christian Mind; not that you were unaware of such....

I am reluctant to compliment another in fear of reinforcing the image one may have of oneself globally referred to as an Ego, or as I refer to it as the Devil's first and ultimate gift to Mankind!

However, with no restraint, I find your mind to be one of those that happens to mankind with such rarity that at first contact one is truly taken back.

My concern is one of how do we keep you here to complete whatever the 'stars', 'gods' or whatever intended when you were sent to us.

Allow me to be your surrogate father; at least for a few paragraphs; keeping in mind that fathers always know what is best for their daughters; or so they think....

Do you think that you can 'convert' a Christian from his dark ignorance into an enlightened existence or enhance the understanding of an intelligent mind that already has debunked the whole Christian story?

Next, will it not be appropriate to expose the Jewish stories, the Muslim foolishness, the Hindu and even the Buddhist nonsense that has evolved? Do not leave out the Atheists, they too have created their own religion.

This is not meant to discourage your present endeavors to be the excellent historian that you are regarding such issues. I only want to caution you of what is implicit in that part of your discourse that 'provokes'!

The root meaning of the work -provoke- literally means to anger, irritate, or annoy....

As my daughter, I can only leave you (legacy) with what I consider to be the very most precious gifts known to mankind: TRUTH - WISDOM - INTELLIGENCE!!!

To verify these as essence, I deeply recommend that you read and UNDERSTAND the writings of the following great (or soon to be) minds:

FIRST AND FOREMOST: J. KRISHNAMURTI (WORLD TEACHER/PHILOSOPHER)
SECONDLY: DAVID BOHM (THEORETICAL PHYSICIST/PHILOSOPHER)
THIRDLY: ACHARYA S (PHILOSOPHER)

There are others, worthwhile minds, but none better than the above; absolutely, none better!

As your father you know that when I was fifteen years old I became a Socialist, an Atheist at sixteen, a Pantheist at seventeen, a conscripted soldier at nineteen, a father of three daughters by age twenty three, a psychologist at thirty eight and now a student of Life, age sixty seven!

Well, gawsh, thanks, Dad!

Acharya-

I bought The Christ Conspiracy from barnesandnoble.com. In addition to revealing truths and exposing so much of human folly, it is a fine read, even for the lay person not intimately versed in mythology. I'm recommending it to friends.

Acharya S,

I want to thank you for this update on Judeo-Christian Mythology from the news. I try to surf the net and also check your web site for the latest news regarding bible fiction and research. Your book has been a great help in understanding the mythology. In regards to this item by Zeev Herzog's research, it surprises me that his milder critics are more worried that the evidence "undermines the national myths that are the basis of Jewish claims to the land of Israel" and that it "was debunking the legends upon which the Jewish state was founded."

Now it seems to me that if people are using fiction and legends to justify the taking over and controlling the lands of other peoples and limiting their freedoms - I am taking about modern Israel - then we have a sick society there and an insult to rational thinking people and mankind in general. Here we are on the threshold of a new millennium on this planet, and we are still dealing with old religious myth-believing peoples with the power to cause the extinction of the rest of us by involving the nuclear powers.

Please pardon the puns but "I thank God I am a born-again Atheist!"

Thank you for your hard work and betterment of mankind.

I don't know if Rob McConnell tapes is shows, but it went very well and was very cordial.

Hey Acharya,

I finished your book. Congratulations on a very scholarly piece of work. I actually needs a reread, which I probably won't do because I didn't need much convincing in the first place. I will however use it as a reference.

You sure have done your homework. You've uncovered an astonishing amount of data. Well done.

Needless to say your still my favorite cyberbabe. I did have a little problem with that pic of you on the back. Are you sure that's current? HA HA.

Yes, the photo was "current," in that it was only a couple of years old.

... Thinking on religion... it seems to me that every last one of them revolves around our selfish, self-centered ego concentrated side of our nature... they promote it to maintain their hold by plying to our needs, desires and fears.

From my view of life; if each and every human being on this planet were a blade of grass, we would fill a football stadium compared to the existence that constitutes the known universe. As such, we are of about the same importance to the universe as we would hold a blade of grass... the universe is what it is aside from us.

Much to the chagrin of our collective ego... we are of absolutely no importance to it what so ever... no more so than we ourselves hold a grain of sand as important.

It is solely and entirely up to us to hold ourselves as sacred and as important as we wish to succeed as a life form and to make of our existence what it will be good or bad... it's our choice because we can now make a choice... religion does not offer choices... it is a defining mechanism that locks the mind into a mold of its creators... that being other human beings who reasons of their own...

... was the apostle Paul into Mithraism because he was in the area where they practiced it and it is exactly like Christianity? Did Paul really exist?

Also, are you familiar with the book, The 12th Planet by Zechariah Sitchin? He believes that the planet Nibiru is on its way here according to the Sumerian Texts which he decoded. Could you help me with some of these questions. I trust you and I know you have researched many things and there are so many off the wall things out there.

... I feel these things are important to know. We'll never know everything, but at least we can be at ease to live this life to the best of our creative abilities without being squelched, which I feel religion has done.
