The Companion Guide to ZEITGEIST, Part 1

<< Previous    1  2  [3]    Next >>

The old Vikings had the right idea in their method of worshipping their old gods. The priests were not allowed to accept money or gratuities from the people. They were required to earn their living from outside the religious world. By working real jobs.

Modern religion produces parasites that suck the living blood from parishioners and in return offer nothing but guilt. Religion is a conspiracy that humanity has fostered off on itself, because it is to weak as a whole, to acknowledge the truth that spiritual enlightenment is to be found in our own hearts and not the words of priests pandering to a central oppressive organization that is bent on keeping the population on a tight leash.

Hi again, Oh Great Author,

... As time takes its toll, the blight of religion seems to be purging from the family. Most of the younger set, meaning my generation and younger, are less enthusastic with the Jesus song and dance routine. In fact one favorite cousin is living with another cousin so now I can visit two cousins in one stop. Talk about family black sheep. Must be the penile erectitis affliction so prevailant in this family. And least they are fun black sheep, or is it black sheep having fun?

I am nearly through the book, you did a grand job, and The Christ Conspiracy is worthy as a source of reference for history, religion, and mythology libraries though out the world. Is this being printed in other languages? After all if the dispictable "holy bible" is flung about in dozens of languages then perhaps The Christ Conspiracy should be in hot persuit, cleaning up after the messes left behind....

Well, know we love you, and SHARE your vibrant, fun-loving "attitude towards life, sex, spirituality, etc." Guess there are at least TWO of us...

... I love the book. I have many books touching on your topic, but you've put it all together in a very interesting, readable, logical format. This one leaps immediately to my top 10 all-time favorite list. Thanks for your wonderful work. It's people like you (though few they be) that give me hope for the future of humanity. I've had a number of "teachers" in my life, but you are the one helping me finish up one millenium and starting the new one right. I admire your work and mind very much, and it's a neat bonus that you're also cuter than a speckled puppy. Thanks. Love always.

At last! I received your book from Amazon today! A quick perusal reveals a quality of scholarship and erudition .... In fact, my initial impression was "What a breath of fresh air!" and "Ahhhh! At last I've got some ammo in my self-declared war on Religious Ignorance!" Of course you're going to be responsible for my losing my daily 4 hours of sleep - as I'll probably read the book straight through tonight, and than fantasize about who I'm going to buy copies for... :>) )

... You did such a great job in listing the facts and fiction.

Thank you for putting it all in one easy to read volume. Although I must admit that I got into a little trouble with a nurse at a local medical center when I was reading it while waiting for my elderly Mother. Guess that I need to be a little careful for there are believers out there no matter what the facts.

After reading your book, I think that the Emperor Constantine should have been made a major Saint by the Catholic Church for his creation of Christ and Christianity. What a genius! What a politician, eat your heart out Clinton....

Maybe you should have offered it to the Vatican and gave them a chance to buy you out. You missed a chance for salvation for I am afraid that they will not be offering you sainthood now. Oh for the days of the Inquisition when they could have dealt "properly" with you for your own good, of course.

Keep the "Good" work up and spread the real Word!

Many thanks for passing me the message. I am passing it on to people around me but it's going to be such a shock for them. People have to grow. It's our duty to help in exposing the hoax.

I had much luck getting the local bookstores to stock at least 5 or 6 copies of Christ Con WITHOUT having to commit to buying them myself. I just told them that several friends were looking to buy one as well (which is true, I told several about it ... ) but that I merely got the job of phoning it in. It works, try it in your town. GREAT!!! Can you imagine, in the buckle portion of the bible belt? Can't ya just see someone perusing the shelf and foaming to buy it? I can and have!

I can't tell ya how excited I am about this book. I just knew that I had tripped upon some amazing stuff (you, Acharya) when I found TruthBeKnown (and I can't even remember how I ran across the site). but I am looking for "wild-fire" results with this book! ...

Hello, I first discovered the Truth Be Known web site several weeks ago and have revisited it twice. It is quite fascinating. Yes, I imagine the truth does indeed set you free and 'piss you off ' at the same time. The young lady in the Buddha picture is quite lovely. Is this indeed the progenitor of The Truth ? To see such beauty coupled with such a bright mind, makes me wish I were much younger. Though when I was younger, I never seemed to have the time for such indulgences. Perhaps entering into an open discussion forum will suffice for me. Good conversation is one of the few vices I am allowed to enjoy these days. This should prove to be an interesting journey. I look forward to sitting down and enjoying it.

After months of anticipation of hearing about the so called Christ Con and hearing about and reading some reviews I still was not convinced that this wasn't a myth. Until I am able to feel the cover and put my hand into its belly would I believe. But today lo and behold I received a package from UPS and to my suprise a beautiful babe in swaddling clothes. As the greatest person that never lived said, " because you have seen it you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed".

A little background about me. I was a fundalmentalist Christian until about 5 months about when I read David Icke's The Biggest Secret, which provided info that I hadn't seen. I started reading the books that were listed in the bibliography, found Jeff Rense where I heard Jordon Maxwell and AS among others. As a matter of fact I called Maxwell and spoke with him for over 2 hours, and I haven't been the same. Of course all of my friends think I'm crazy, but they know that I am radical, but enough of the rambling. Congrats to AS for the first of what i hope is to be many books to enlighten the masses. Flipping thru the bibliography I see many of the references that I have read. This first book is a gift. The cost should have been at least $10 more. I'll let you know what I think of the book. Thank you for the courage I know it took to get this published.

Yea, IT is here...finally! I got word last night that Christ Con was in at my bookstore (well, one copy was anyway) and that I could finally pick it up. Yippee :-) When I got there a little after noon today the owner told me that she had called in to order several more copies for the store 'cause (in that brief span of time) 2 people had seen my copy on the "Hold" shelf in the store, looked at it and wanted it for themselves too! Way to go, Acharya! Even here in Podunk, the truth will out. I am so thrilled for you. And me: the recipient of this book, your gift to fellow Seekers.

And now, let the reading commence....

Hello Acharya,

I enjoy your emails. Refreshing. It is nice to meet someone who is just about as direct as I am. Hopefully, my reading of the Urantia Book has not made me dotty.

I nearly slipped today at work when someone mentioned the Roman history, Marcus Aurelius, Roman ruler and a Stoic. My co-worker stated that he was surprised that such wisdom was available in the 1rst century A.D. I stated that before the Catholic church held sway with its bogus stuff; the world could think on other things very clearly. (Of course, I know that not all the Roman rulers were not Marcus Aurelius!)

The Internet is too full of Christianity stuff -- sometimes I like to butt heads with them so Free Thought doesn't go down the "drain". That's why I like your emails -- it's nice to come across someone who you mostly agree with in these matters.

By the way, my work is computer science and telecommunications. I wish I had the energy to write a book on my readings of history, philosophy, and religion -- which has always been my "hobby".

Date: Wed, 29 Sep 1999 19:31:54 CDT

Hello Acharya,

All my life, I have been a Christian. Lately, I have began to search for some deeper meaning to life than worshipping Christ. I still believe in God but have questions about Christ and the Holy Bible. If what I have been taught about Christianity is true, I accept it but I have to know. I don't want to live for Christ out of fear of hell. I have seen the video The Naked Truth and as you can imagine, it has really started my wheels turning. I am on a search to find truth and understanding. I am wondering if you can give me suggestions on where to find historical proof to either prove or disprove the existence of Jesus. I really need to know. I am going against everything that I have believed I need proof. Thank You.

Hi -I also began life in a "Christian" environment, so I can understand, although mine was not repressive at all. I rejected it at an early age, having seen its folly. It is great that you are on the quest for truth. There were for me several pieces of the puzzle even within Christianity, including Gal. 3:23-28. Of course, I also studied many of the world's religions, such that I could not discriminate as Christianity requires. In fact, it became clear how much more sophisticated were the ideas contained in religions other than Christ-insanity. Fears come and go. As you go deeper in - and I see you have joined the list, so you will see many others who are not afraid - the fear will diminish in some ways. In others, it will increase. Just take your time and keep or develop a sense of humor. Meditation was of crucial importance to me in my quest for enlightenment. One thing always to keep in mind that if there were such a creature as "God," she/he/it would not be interested in seeing anyone suffering. Such a statement, of course, proves that there is no such god person as is depicted by religionists. However, we ourselves become the incarnation of divinity, such that we determine which of the qualities in the infinity cosmos is to have more power. In other words, WE determine "God." Regarding the nonhistorical Jesus, I am quite thorough in my book - building on centuries of brilliant insights. Check it out.

Dear Buddhaful,

I enjoyed reading your essay on the origins of Christianity. There was much that I had read in the past that was amplified. I learned some other things that were new to me. It's all helpled me part another veil and get a clearer view of the Mystery.

Thanks again

Subject: You represent sanity in an insane world.

Yes, I would tend to agree that there is a high probability of other dimensions, parallel to our own and some interactions could occur.

I do not know what the human importance, if any, is to the Universe, but the fact that we are a integral part of it and yet have insight and the ability to observe it (and possibly by doing so make it have reality), is mysterious and wonderful. Physically we are less than bacteria on the surface of a particle of dust... but we have the ability to seek out and analyze the World's most intimate secrets.

The ultimate secret, the real mystery of being, probably is not ever to be known. To understand our true and real nature we would need to step outside of the Universe or have a "mirror" to look at ourself in... and there is no "outside" or any mirror.

Religions are just attempts to explain that which humans have not real explanations for... and of course are based upon fear and ignorance and perpetuated by intellectuals to control the masses and and gain wealth and power without great effort. It is when they divide humanity up into "them and us", the infidels and true believers, that the real danger comes in. So much blood, pain and destruction has come about because of human nature that is chauvinistic and intolerant.

I think that the crop circles are true examples of some very special and advanced intelligence that is apparently trying to communicate with us. They are complex and quite beautiful and beyond any technology that I can think of... yet they are tangible and real. They are artistic smoking guns that indicate a real mystery and a a real possibility of that something is interfacing with us.

I like the pomp and circumstance, the rituals and beautiful artistry such as music that has come out of religion. It has inspired the best in the human heart along with the worst. We still retain our ancestral reptilian brain stem that is based upon ritualistic behavior and probably is part of the reason behind such activity.

I also like to think that there are forms of magic in the world, not necessarily supernatural, but wonderful and seemingly mysterious. Synchronicity is one form of "magic" that we have all experienced, as is the deja vu type of scenario.

It is said that when the student is ready, that the teacher will appear... Possibly you will be my teacher, as I feel your words in my heart.

You need not teach me to see worlds in grains of sand... for I already see them, or heavens in wild flowers. I do feel infinity in the palm of my hand and eternities in hours. Dear Acharya, just teach me to see truth... to look behind the curtain and see the man pulling the levers... to know the joy of understanding.

Didn't one of the Popes admit that the "Jesus thing" was a good scam for his church? His candor seems very unusual and refreshing!

Have you any comments on the "Urantia Book", as I find it fascinating and seemingly erudite and written with amazing complexity. I read it much as science fiction, but do enjoy it. It is hard to separate the wheat from the chaff in such works, but never the less intriguing to try.

Thank you for responding to my simplistic letters... and I hope that you will consider me as a friend along with being your fan.

I find the URANTIA book to be so much twaddle. Reading it too much can make you dotty. I have a lengthy critique of it, but I haven't put it up yet. I've already been attacked by its fanatics.

... *** & I contacted a number of book stores (NOT the "Baptist Book Store, however!) in the Shreveport & Dallas areas, about a week ago....to ask if your book was in. EVERY SINGLE STORE said, "Oh, it's ON ORDER" & should arrive in just a few days. Would you like us to order it for you?" ...

We NOTICED, that every store, where we asked for it, KNEW ABOUT IT!!! Alot of the sales people in this area are rather simple-minded, and you have to give them the book title & author SEVERAL TIMES...but, EVERYONE, INSTANTLY, ALREADY , "KNEW" YOUR BOOK! And, that is astounding....given the fact, that the name ACHARYA S is EXTREMELY UNUSUAL!!!

I think....*****HOPE****...."The Christ Con." STARTS A REVOLUTION in this country & world-wide!!! A GOOD ONE, of enlightenment!!! I feel that ALOT of people are going to buy it & "read it on the sly"....that are reportedly GOOD christians & Jews, as there are just TOO MANY "unanswered questions", as there was for ME! Unless, just most all of humanity is BRAIN DAMAGED & willing to continue BEING CONTROLED by religion! It will be interesting to SEE!

Hello Acharya,

I assume that you are very busy so I will keep this short. I have looked at your site many time in the last few months. I think it is great. I have learned many things and found out that we are like-minded on many subjects.

I have bought your latest book and have been reading it along with the other 200 I bought within the last few months. I am a seeker of the Truth, although at times I feel like I know too much, since as you know it can be lonely some times, knowing things that most people can't believe is true.

I am intelligent, know a little about a lot of things, and a lot about a few things. I know the difference between believing and knowing. I know we are in for an interesting time on planet Earth, but that is why we are here, isn't it....
