The Companion Guide to ZEITGEIST, Part 1

UFOs & Aliens

Andrews, George C., Extra-Terrestrials Among Us. The classic - an excellent overview.

Bramley, William, The Gods of Eden. Bramley presents the history of the UFO phenomenon in a very titillating and fascinating manner. This book has become a classic with UFO/alien enthusiasts. Influences include Scientology, as acknowledged in the bibliography.

Carlotto, Mark, The Martian Enigmas: A Closer Look. Who built the Mars "monuments" (if such they be)?

Cathie, Bruce, The Energy Grid : Harmonic 695, the Pulse of the Universe: The Investigation into the World Energy Grid. A pilot, Cathie began to see a pattern to UFO sightings, which he then plotted, determining a worldwide electromagnetic grid that he hypothesizes is used by UFOs as part of their propulsion system. Fascinating.

Commander X, Underground Alien Bases. Love this one. Blows the mind. Short, easy to read - a must-have!

Corso, Col. Philip & Byrnes, Wm, The Day After Roswell. An army colonel who allegedly worked with "alien" artifacts, Corso attempts to document that Roswell really was a UFO crash site and claims that much of our high tech in the past 50 years is alien-based, reverse-engineered. Wildly popular and debated book.

Hall, Richard, Uninvited Guests. A Documented History of UFO Sightings, Alien Encounters & Coverups. Comprehensive and popular.

Hill, Paul, Unconventional Flying Objects: A Scientific Analysis. Another popular book that examines how these things might work.

Hoagland, Richard, The Monuments of Mars. Groundbreaker Hoagland analyzes strange anomalies on the surface of Mars, concluding that they are artifacts of sentient beings. The style makes this one a bit hard to read.

Hopkins, Bud, Intruders: The Incredible Visitations at Copley Woods. "A classic UFO book that belongs in every enthusiast's library!" The "grays" are abducting women and creating hybrids . . . The video is terrific.

Howe, Linda Moulton & Vallee, Jacques, An Alien Harvest: Further Evidence Linking Animal Mutilations and Human Abductions to Alien Life Forms. Howe is an excellent researcher and Vallee a brilliant theorist (the model of the French scientist in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind").

Keel, John, Disneyland of the Gods. For fans of Forteana or anyone else for that matter, this one can't be missed. Praise the Gods that this book has been reissued! Short, easy to read, providing fascinating info about bizarre anomalies and mysteries that have been happening on this planet since time immemorial. A must-have!

Keith, Jim, Casebook on Alternative 3: UFOs, Secret Societies and World Control, IllumiNet, 1994. Are the human elite building bases on the moon and Mars? Is it a hoax? And why is this book hard to find?
----, Casebook on the Men in Black. The Men in Black (MIBs) have been appearing for hundreds of years - who are what are they?

Kolosimo, Peter, Not of This World. An excellent, short compendium of weirdness and "fortean" oddities.

Mack, John, Abductions: Human Encounters With Aliens. The famous Harvad professor of psychiatry chronicles unexplainable cases in this bestseller.

Meier, Eduard "Billy," The Talmud of Jmmanuel, Wildflower Press, 1992. A simply awful, obviously fraudulent book.

Randi, James & Clarke, Arthur C., An Encyclopedia of Claims, Frauds, and Hoaxes of the Occult and Supernatural: James Randi's Decidedly Skeptical Definitions of Alternate Realities. As usual, Randi provides necessary balance.

Ruby, Doug, The Gift : The Crop Circles Deciphered. Not sure if this is the guy interviewed by Art Bell, but if he is, then his book is no doubt fascinating, as he claims to have figured out that the crop circles - in 3-D - are technological keys from ETs that could save the world.

Sitchin, Zecharia "Earth Chronicles" series. Following in von Daniken's footsteps, Sitchin goes overboard in trying to make all legendary gods and godmen into historical figures and "aliens." Also, he has a religious agenda. Proceed with caution.
----, Genesis Revisited: Is Modern Science Catching Up With Ancient Knowledge
----, The 12th Planet
----, The Stairway to Heaven
----, The Wars of Gods and Men
----, The Lost Realms
----, When Time Began
----,
Divine Encounters

Strieber, Whitley, The Secret School: Preparation for Contact. The latest from the bestselling author who put Communion with aliens on the map!

Temple, Robert, The Sirius Mystery. "Did civilization on earth result from contact with inhabitants of a planet in the Sirius star system prior to 3,000 B.C.?"

Thomas, Kenn, Flying Saucers over Los Angeles. Heavily illustrated reprint of a dissertation from the '50s.
----, Maury Island UFO. The indefatigable Thomas unravels a classic UFO case involved creepy characters. Edited by Greg Bishop and Acharya S.

Thompson, Richard, Alien Identies: Ancient Insights into Modern UFO Phenomena. Good and comprehensive resource with an excellent bibliography.

The URANTIA Book. One of the most clever and insidious brainwashing manuals ever devised. Be careful if you attempt to tackle this one - you'll end up dotty. First read the reviews in The Skeptical Enquirer, Martin Gardner's Urantia: The Great Cult Mystery and Randi's Encyclopedia of Frauds (above) and Vallee's Messengers of Deception (below). Utterly sexist and racist rubbish with a few platitudes thrown in, designed to make the white male THE authority on this planet (what else is new?). May be extraterrestrial but it's a BIG hoax. The following is an example of how URANTIA makes people demented (an actual email received at Truth Be Known):

You should shove this Urantia Book up you ass before you go claiming it's insidious brainwashing. You have no idea what you're talking about. STICK WITH YOUR blind scholarly approach to attacking the BIBLE. You at least have some idea of this area. As for Martin Gardener, he's a hemorroid like you who read 2% of the book and decided he was an expert. WITH THIS LARGE BOOK UP YOUR ASS, YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO SEE MORE CLEARLY AS IT WILL PUSH THE BULLSHIT OUT OF YOU.

ONLY A MORON WOULD CITE THIS. YOU'RE AN IDIOT. AS FOR BRAINWASHING, YOU'RE FUCKIN SITE DOES THE SAME MENTAL GYMNASTICS EXCEPT YOU TRY TO COME OFF AS IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT, DUMBASS. you can only rewrite so much of history before you find out your sources are about as reliable as the bible. chew on THAT for awhile...lamebrain !!!   your site is UGLY by the way. Samoa

Continuing to validate that URANTIA makes people vile, other URANTIA BORG have called me a "demented man" and "pompous fathead." (See also the Skeptic's Dictionary critique of URANTIA and the URANTIA Review by Dave Langford.)

Vallee, Jacques, Dimensions: A Casebook of Alien Contact. One of the best books on the subject. Like Keel's Disneyland of the Gods (above), Vallee takes a novel approach - the "bleeding together" of dimensions - that would be best kept in mind while studying this issue.
----, Messengers of Deception: UFO Contacts and Cults. Ditto with the above advice. This great book is hard to find, but well worth the effort. Let Amazon try to find if for you. Particularly useful for its outline of URANTIA.
----, Passport to Magonia: On Ufos, Folklore, and Parallel Worlds. Vallee's books are always worthwhile.

Vasco, Renato & Childress, David, Man-Made UFOs 1944-1994: 50 Years of Suppression. What did the Nazis know about UFOs? Did they build some themselves?
